I once worked at a company (4 engineers including the CTO at the time). The CTO urged everyone to push to master, and called me out sarcastically asking, "Why don't you push to master?" I responded, "Because that's stupid." I'm not very eloquent and I don't work there anymore. They are currently valued over a billion dollars (for now).
