  The list of people who were close friends with him, but said nothing, is extremely long. That is indeed fucked up, but it's not a crime. Actually participating in child rape is a crime. If we get a full list, we will have to have a good hard look at a lot of people we otherwise respected. But actual crimes will take precedence.

      I wouldn't say it's "dismissive", just that it's of secondary priority to the things that are actual crimes. They can be prosecuted, and must be immediately. Introspection and recrimination will take more time.

        I don't think we have to wait for all related crimes to have been prosecuted before we ask the people close to Epstein what they knew and why they did nothing. We have enough people in the country to pursue both simultaneously. Trump should answer for why he was so close with Epstein for so long while saying and doing nothing about the extensive crimes he was aware of.
