New data shows tape is still not dead
- bob1029 1y agoIIRC, the AWS glacier deep archive product relies on LTO tape libraries for storage. $0.00099 per gigabyte-month is very hard to compete with if your product relies on spinning disks. The multi-hour access delay is definitely worth a 5-6x reduction in storage cost.
