Maybe it's always been but enshitification and lack of agency (and responsibility) by the customer support agents has made getting help when something goes wrong almost impossible everywhere. So now you need to create a social media shitstorm to force a reaction from the company above the normal lines of escalation. I think this is a terrible mistake from the companies.
