  Nature versus nurture is an age-old debate. Both are likely in play. Some people are predisposed, but that doesn't mean you need to give them a shove off the cliff. Interactivity is very different than one-sided consumption.

  That's a little reductionist. While I agree your premise might be correct, there's a difference between a product that runs through a pre-determined script (soap opera), and one programmed to respond in ways that make you feel good to increase shareholder value (gpt). It's not really an intelligence issue at that point
