I suspect that my kidney function was negatively affected by a reaction to the contrast used in some medical imaging I had a few years ago. Unfortunately, lack of access to healthcare means I've never been able confirm it. I just know that, before that episode, I was noted for my ability to hold my alcohol; after, no more, and I've had to be careful about taking certain kinds of OTC medication because I can feel it affecting me similarly. Wouldn't be surprised if there was some source of hidden damage like that.
