That's a common misconception. In most jurisdictions retailers can set their own payment policies.
- cryptonector 1y agoThe point is to demand that they be legally required to accept legal tender. It's a tremendous pain for retailers to accept cash, which is why they're willing to accept high transaction fees from online points of sale.
- thaumasiotes 1y agoThere is an interesting parallel to the code of Hammurabi, which specifies that certain vendors must accept payment in grain as well as silver.
