Question: What if you don't comply but are outside of the UK and have no business operating there making money, filing taxes etc. What is the consequence, criminal charges in absentia and an attempt at extradition? Also, at $1.50/user, what if users pay for accounts? Perhaps this will be the Band-Aid ripping moment that ushers in sane communities that are no longer under attack by endless bad actors with infinite free accounts?

The second part is something I've been pondering for quite a long time. Having to verify your identity (without it being exposed to other users) sounds like it could reduce endless botting. On the other hand such a system is basically begging to be abused by bad actors (state and non state)
