The article doesn't say how these contracts were vital. Given that Trump, through DOGE and otherwise, has been willing to scrap lots of other programs considered vital, there must be some other overriding factor that causes this decision.
- mindcrash 1y agoTo start with SpaceX as of yet has proven to be the only commercial space flight org reliably able to move personnel and cargo to ISS. Boeing tried, and we all know what happened next.
