Sure, a new term will be more clunky and less click-baity, especially to start with. I'm sure "Silicon Valley" once sounded clunky, but some creative person coined the term.
It may or may not be possible to get headline writers to avoid stereotypes, but I personally try to use more words to avoid using labels that push stereotypes onto people.
