Ask HN: What zoom level do you browse HN at?
I browse most of the web at a default 100% zoom level.
But for HN I have it set to 133% - I find the default uncomfortable, on desktop at least.
I'm just curious, does anyone else do the same?
- mindcrime 1y agoRight this second I have it at 200%, but I've been having some vision issues and will soon be having corrective surgery on both of my eyes. Hopefully once that is done, I won't need such a high zoom level (and/or reading glasses) anymore.
- mtmail 1y agoSame here, 133%. HN's design if from a time when people used 15", 1024x768 resolution
- shervinafshar 1y agoOn desktop on 133% at the moment. Can tolerate 120%, but the default is too small of a text size for me.
- sqwrell 1y agoI dunno.. but I pres CTRL + 5 times in Brave Browser
- Logans_Run 1y ago150%-170% on desktop monitors.
- vlod 1y ago160% on 32'' 4K monitor.
- LargoLasskhyfv 1y agoThat depends on the used browser and installed fonts, and probably operating system too. I'm using 150%, while the 24" screen is at arms length, and an additional full hand away. About 110 to 120cm, I guess? My defaults are still at 100%, though I go to 110 or 120 more and more, sometimes 133 to 150, but that tends to cause reflow. It's mostly 'mobile first' crap, for ppl used to read from the equivalent of a cashiers strip. shrug edit: With vertical tabs this looks very acceptable.
