Out Run: Amiga Edition – Launch Trailer [video]
- dfex 1y agoBravo! It might be just my age, but these days I'm more excited about sporadic releases for long dead platforms than the absolute tsunami of copycat "AAA" content released on modern consoles/PCs.
- rasz 1y ago>mid-spec Commodore Amiga computers (030 and above) About 2% (~40K A3000 and 40K A4000) of Amigas ever sold (~4mil total) fits this "mid" requirements.
- os2warpman 1y agoThere are a number of new accelerators available on the market. I've been thinking about getting a PiStorm ($40-70 + Raspberry Pi 3 A) for my A2000. Should bump me up to a ~100Mhz 68030 level of performance. But yeah, when people release new software for the Amiga in 2025 and entertain thoughts of "what could have been" they're misremembering the state of the Amiga market at the time. The vast majority of Amiga users had an A500 hooked up to a TV and a Competition Pro, MAYBE with a trapdoor RAM expansion.
- vardump 1y agoI think practically every A500 had a RAM expansion. At some point it was simply a requirement.
- msephton 1y agoI think it's fair to say it's mid-spec for what an Amiga enthusiast has available in 2025.
- snvzz 1y agoI suspect most A1200 owners today have a 030 or better accel board mounted. Still, I feel careful programming should have enabled it to work with just the onboard 020 and a fast ram expansion.
- msephton 1y agoI'm sure the developer would be open to any optimisation ideas you have that they might have missed. As far as I know, the majority of time on the project was spent on optimisation.
