I have: "\C-ga": "git add " and so on in my .inputrc (https://github.com/grn/dotfiles/blob/master/inputrc https://github.com/grn/dotfiles/blob/master/inputrc). This allows me to type Ctrl-g, a to insert "git add ". It makes typing faster and is clearer than aliases.
