When I had to deal with the apple appstore it was really clear that the rules are by Apple for Apple. It is far from a "fair" treatment, especially if your app doesn't generate any revenue for them. Now I don't know how bad you blew the apple guidelines but at least they should tell you right away what's wrong. Maybe you have yourself a clue to share ?
