I dunno, a better lesson to take away from this is, don't fall for sales. I think more people will do better to learn to evaluate others by what they do rather than what they say. If you don't know better, reputation and first-hand references will give you much better indicators than someone's own words.
- dyauspitr 1y agoThis guy had the sales chops and the ability to write good code (as pointed out in the tweets). Sounds like the complete package.
- potamic 1y agoIf that were the case, the sales wouldn't have mattered in the first place. The article does suggest cold emailing as a tactic, so if someone is looking at a stock standard cold email template and thinking, "hey, this guy sounds exciting!", they're gonna have a bad time.
- dyauspitr 1y agoHave you tried getting a job in this market?
- potamic 1y agoI think you're misunderstanding my point. I was talking from the receiver's point of view, not the initiator. As far as the job market is concerned, when the supply/demand is so skewed and everyone is doing this kind of sales, it gets reduced to a game of chance more than anything else.
