Lets fund fracking activity around minor active volcanoes. I bet that an increase in volcanic explosions can come with short-term cooling effects.

- johncole 1y agoBrilliant idea, I will fund it.
- andyjsong 1y agoGreat, we conduct artificial stratovolcanic eruptions in NorCal every month: https://makesunsets.com/products/join-the-next-balloon-launch-and-cool-the-planet https://makesunsets.com/products/join-the-next-balloon-launc...
- screye 1y agoI posted this as a joke. Turns out it is a serious? scientific field of inquiry. - forgotoldacc 1y ago> It appears that stratospheric aerosol injection, at a moderate intensity, could counter most changes to temperature and precipitation, take effect rapidly, have low direct implementation costs, and be reversible in its direct climatic effects.[2] That last little bit scares me. Whenever I see "yeah nah we can totally reverse it", all I can imagine is that it's something we'll do carelessly and excessively, with no ability to reverse it within our lifetimes.
