Hiring Mgrs/Recruiters - My response to "What am I interested in?"
To all the hiring managers and recruiters on here (and the rest of the HN community):
I've recently commenced a job search due to my previous start-up not working out as planned. My response to the typical question "What are you interested in?" has been something along the lines of the following:
"At a high level, I enjoy solving tough problems, managing risk, and exploring new ideas."
I usually then go on to relate those three things to the job function we are discussing. I was wondering if I could get your feedback on my response. To me, I feel it's a thoughtful response that demonstrates I can think at a high level. To the recruiters I've been talking to, I'm worried that they perceive it as not knowing what I want to do or too vague. What are your thoughts?
