- hypertele-Xii 1y agoWhat's wrong with trees?
- bell-cot 1y agoDoing it at scale, with trees, is called a "tree plantation". Lumber companies already have a lot of those, and ruthlessly optimize them for profit. Vs. environmentalists vastly prefer natural forests. For example: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0378112723000221 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S037811272...
- exabrial 1y agoNothing at all! But it requires careful forest management and people often don’t understand how young growth wood is an infinitely sustainably resource… knee jerk reaction is oh that’s bad
- thehappypm 1y agoTrees die, and turn back into CO2
- hypertele-Xii 1y agoNot if you build houses from them.
