India's richest man wants to turn every TV into a PC

• al_borland 1y ago
He wants to deploy WebTV from 30 years ago, tying people to the living room TV when everything is becoming increasingly mobile? Bold strategy.

I had that exact initial thought, then I kept reading and the article is talking about access to office apps, not the web browser. Which is different, because yes, the web is mobile, especially in India. This is not that.

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking about webtv.

He's onto something. I've had a Mac Mini connected to my living room television for the past fifteen years, with a bluetooth keyboard and trackpad. No cable. Can't imagine it any other way.
