Not the same exact yellow lead compound, I suspect red lead oxide instead.
I've been suspicious of red lead oxide in paprika for a while now too.
Some paprika just seems so much brighter colored than ever to me.
- account42 1y agoI'd be even more worried about Kashmiri Chili powder which is supposed to be bright red so there would be even more temptation for adulteration if a batch turned out less red than expected.
