Kyoto, a city that literally almost went bankrupt during COVID due to lack of tourism.

- anigbrowl 1y agoMunicipal bankruptcy is a medium-term problem, but as we're seeing, the dose makes the poison. Suffocating under an excess of tourism is arguably worse than a shortage of it, which could be replaced by other sorts of economic activity.
