What a remarkable collection of double-binds.
Everybody believes that the list exists, and implicates their political enemies. Everyone is aware that a fake suicide was predictable.
Democrats believe that the list includes members of the present administration, and does not trust the administration to make this decision. Many Republicans believe that the list includes members of past Democratic administrations, and is extremely suspicious that they would be exonerated.
So even if this is the absolute truth, nobody believes it, and there's no way they could ever believe it.
- sigwinch 1y agoThis doesn’t cut both ways. Scrambling after Patel failed to deliver a satisfying report, Bondi reassigned one thousand FBI officials to comb through the case. That’s the same scale as the FBI response to Jan 6. So far as I can tell, it’s the most personnel for a case that’s now guaranteed to never see a charge. Taxpayers should get their money back.
- techpineapple 1y agoThis isn’t entirely partisan, Democrats believe the list includes members of past Democratic administrations as well, specifically Clinton. I mean, I think many members of both sides (voters, not politicians) are ready to clean house and don’t really care who is implicated at this point. MAGA voters would probably try to protect Trump but probably wouldn’t care who else was implicated.
