Show HN: A simple site with long-play rain and ambient sounds (no ads, no login)
I built RainSleep.net to provide a peaceful, distraction-free sound experience for sleeping, relaxing, or focusing.
The site offers a growing library of high-quality ambient soundtracks, including:
– Rain (gentle, thunderstorm, flowing water)
– Birdsong & forest sounds
– Tibetan singing bowls
– Rain + soft piano
– White noise / pink noise
Each track is available in multiple durations (30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 8 hours) and plays directly in-browser with no ads, no signup, no popups — just a clean audio player.
Everything is mobile-friendly and optimized for long listening sessions. The idea was to create something that stays out of your way and helps you wind down or stay focused.
Would love any feedback from the HN community on:
– Audio quality, transitions, or device compatibility
– Desired features (sleep timer? sound mixing?)
– Suggestions for new sound types

- yamatokaneko 1y agoReally like the sound. Do you loop a specific part, or is the whole track generated by AI?
- zhangxingmao 1y agoThanks! Glad you enjoyed the sound. The current tracks are not generated by AI — they’re carefully curated and manually looped for a smooth listening experience. I’m considering exploring AI-generated ambient variations in the future, but for now the focus is on quality, natural soundscapes. Appreciate your interest!
- yamatokaneko 1y agoI think AI-generated content is a perfect fit for this kind of use case: – I don’t want to choose what to play every time I start working – I don’t want to hear the same patterns repeating That said, I haven’t found anything that really nails it yet—so I’m excited to see if you can crack it.
