I accidentally deleted Levels.fyi's entire back end server stack last week
- dovys 1y agoFrom past experience, CloudFormation is full of footguns that if you don't take time to understand them, you'll loose a foot and often in production. Most notably, when a rollback kicks in there is no way to stop it. And it largely locks you out until it's finished.
- Metalnem 1y agoKudos for publishing this, but why is it on Reddit instead of the Levels.fyi blog (https://www.levels.fyi/blog/ https://www.levels.fyi/blog/)?
- unsnap_biceps 1y agoJust to be clear, I have no affiliation with levels.fyi, so I have no idea why they decided to post on Reddit rather than their blog. I just thought it was a interesting post to share.
- Metalnem 1y agoThanks for posting this—it's super interesting! I was just curious why the author of the Reddit post didn't publish it on their own blog, since it's definitely worth preserving there.
