I didn't see in the article how that one works but most of the metal 3D printers use metal powders mixed with a bonding agent which is activated by heating it with a laser.
I therefore don't think you could really heat treat the product as the metal isn't in its normal crystalline structure.
- carterschonwald 14y agoI think the main value for 3d printing is its easier to create the casts for molds. (that still raises the matter of whether or not casting is suitable in those application domains)
