Icons should be first and foremost about usability. It's like the only thing that matters now is following a particular aesthetic (which I personally find ugly but that's besides the point). Most of the new icons are incomprehensible at smaller sizes. Heck some are even incomprehensible at a large size. How are a bunch of color bubbles related to games?
