"Apple did first in iOS now only iOS can use them" No, everyone can use, as long as they pay Apple whatever they ask for the royalties, or get sued by ridiculously sums of money. The monopoly is not on the invention - the monopoly is on the legal right to ask any value from, or sue, whoever implements similar idea. That is what's f* up about patents, because otherwise, it would be a great idea since you can build upon other's inventions and the inventor still gets financial return for R&D.
