It would help if every purchaser of a bicycle checked the frame serial number against various online stolen bike databases. I'm not sure how fragmented the bike registration industry is.
- pavel_lishin 14y agoI think most purchasers don't care, at least not for any bike that cost less than $100.
- jiggy2011 14y agoI wonder how many people record their frame numbers, or even know that they exist? I have 3 bikes and haven't got the frame numbers written down anywhere. Although I will rectify this now!
- akgerber 14y agoQuite fragmented, especially considering nearly every local police department has their own.
