Lorde's new CD is so transparent that stereos can't even read it
- vr46 1y agoWhat is in there that is supposed to reflect the laser? It a Red Book-compliant CD? Modern CD players are cut-down versions of older machines. My Naim forgoes de-emphasis as only older CDs from the 14-bit era used it. Surely one would expect full backward support for a medium designed for a greater-than-human lifespan?
- goosedragons 1y agoYeah but the company could save 12¢ forgoing it and maybe 1/10,000 customers would even know about it to complain.
- leoh 1y agoProbably could put a reflective sticker on top of the disc and it would work?

- Kirby64 1y agoDefeats the purpose of “fully recyclable” if you add a metalized sticker on the top.
