You Must Listen to RFC 2119
- evanjrowley 1y agoI didn't know RFC 2119 by number, but it was the first one I ever read. What was your first RFC experience?
- luckystarr 1y agoRFC 821, the original. I operated a mail relay some lifetimes ago and I knew this one by heart.

- wonger_ 1y agoRFC 1034 for me.
- beng-nl 1y agoPOP, for which I implemented a client. A webapp to read your mail. In C. Awful to our modern ears, but the functionality was something of an achievement at the time.
- james_a_craig 1y agoRFC1459, the IRC one. I wrote the QuakeNet channel services once upon a time.
- kwoff 1y agoThat was hilarious. Also kudos for paying a person instead of using AI to generate it.
- suchoudh 1y agoROFL made my day
- zugi 1y agoI just about lost it at the "may be very subtle" around 3:35...
- wonger_ 1y agoThis reminded me of a random HN submission. Someone was reading a terms of service agreement out loud. And I think that audio was like 20 minutes long, and only a minor joke in the background of a webpage that was an even bigger joke or parody. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
- ncgl 1y agoEverything's a spectacle
- davidpfarrell 1y agoHaving listened now, I see what you wanted was to have David Cross read it in (almost any) one of his characters. We can probably arrange a Cameo to achieve this!
