- Freedom2 1y agoSounds like some tariffs should be applied as as well considering there's now a trade imbalance!

- datavirtue 1y agoSee.
- aspenmayer 1y agoI can fully believe one can be funny in a way that isn’t validated or understood, or even perceived as humorous. I’m not sure HN is a good bellwether for comedic potential.
- absurdo 1y agoIf you don’t adhere to the guidelines we’ll send mean and angry emails to dang.
- aspenmayer 1y ago> If you don’t adhere to the guidelines we’ll send mean and angry emails to dang. That’s so weird, you’re on! That makes two of us! When I don’t adhere to the guidelines, I also send mean and angry emails to dang. Apologies in advance, dang.
- ahartmetz 1y agoAFAIU, that is basically true? Isn't it in the guidelines somewhere? Sarcasm or (exclusive-or!) really good humor get a pass in practice.
- aspenmayer 1y agoI think it’s a matter of style or finesse. If you can make it look good, even breaking the rules is socially acceptable, because a higher order desire is to create conditions in individuals where they break unjust rules when the greater injustice would be to censor yourself to comply with the rules in a specific case. Good artists copy, great artists steal. Good rule followers follow the rules all the time. Great rule followers break the rules in rare isolated instances to point at the importance of internalizing the spirit that the rules embody, which buttresses the rules with an implicit rule to not follow the rules blindly, but intentionally, and if they must be broken, to do so with care. > I have spread my dreams under your feet; > Tread softly because you tread on my dreams. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aedh_Wishes_for_the_Cloths_of_Heaven https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aedh_Wishes_for_the_Cloths_of_...
