  I think the article overcomplicates the problem with its discussion about power vacuums. There's power vacuums everywhere. The US doesn't care about them. There's only two reasons the US keeps meddling in the middle east. Oil, and Israel (for some reason the US is really Zionist). It's not too bring democracy, protect the little man, WMDs or other stuff. They just want the money.
