New SLS booster design suffers anomaly during test
- Polizeiposaune 1y agoThis was a test of a redesign of the SLS solid rocket booster to use a composite case (the current shuttle-derived SRBs used by SLS use a steel case). In a static test, the nozzle fell off about 100 seconds after ignition; if this occurred in flight it would likely abort the mission.
