macOS Tahoe Beta Forces Sharing FileVault Key
- Aloisius 1y agoIt doesn't share your FileVault key if you already have FileVault enabled. Rather, if you install it on an unencrypted drive, it'll turn FileVault on and then save a backup of the key to iCloud. Not sure if this is just a beta issue or it was intentional. It would be annoying for people who don't want encryption, but I guess for most people, an encrypted drive + iCloud key is probably better than an unencrypted drive.
- burnt-resistor 1y agoIt should prompt to give the user the choice not to while defaulting to a recommended setting of sharing.
