  And HN users should run the "ClearURLs" extension[1] (or similar) to automatically strip these and other tracking links from their browser. Or at least read the URL they've entered when posting and manually prune unnecessary parameters.     Or consider using Firefox, which has a native "Copy clean link" context menu option. Very useful!
