Yeah I am very pro-privacy and don’t agree that this is a choice between requiring warrants at the border or no searches at all. From a practical standpoint it’s completely unworkable to require an actual judge to evaluate every person coming in and out to issue or deny a warrant. The costs alone are staggering.
