I feel the same as you, but the movement is evolving in the alt-med/pseudoscience direction really quickly. Amateurs are collecting tons of cool data (amazing!) and then doing their amateur analysis (Ancient Aliens level depressing!). Without a very strong internal pressure to get their shit together and act like smart people who understand that some problems require expertise the movement is screwed.
