    The parent post was about Iranian women jobs getting jobs in engineering. Whatever restrictions are on them, they don't seem to have trouble getting STEM education.

        I took the contradiction as the point: that they are oppressed and yet, surprisingly, not with respect to educational opportunity > including one from Iran who complained bitterly about how women were treated in her country but who did get the opportunity to get an advanced education
