DocuSign sends Cease and Desist to free SaaS developer
- sohrob 1y agoDid they really have much of a moat to begin with?
- bigfatkitten 1y agoOnly a well-oiled FUD machine that goes into top gear whenever they feel threatened. Their superpower is bullshitting people into thinking that only their platform can satisfy the rules of evidence that relate to document signatures.

- ahofmann 1y agoWell, happy Streisand effect to you, DocuSign!
- andrewinardeer 1y agoNot sure they care. Why would they?
- Anonbrit 1y agoIt seems to be making more of their customers aware of a free alternative. Plenty of the Twitter replies seem to be in people exploring dumping their extremely expensive docusign subscription to use this alternative. Loss of customers seems like something they'd definitely care about
- mtmail 1y ago"Examples of such false and misleading statements are set forth in Exhibit 1" Is that attachment/exhibit linked anywhere?
- duxup 1y agoAs far as I can tell we get part of the email and nothing outlining the supposed issues.

- mtmail 1y agoUpdate: "They literally never sent over an exhibit in the email..." https://x.com/AzianMike/status/1935671153076678983 https://x.com/AzianMike/status/1935671153076678983
- duxup 1y agoDid they contact the developer or their website host or registrar?
- throwawaysleep 1y agoTriggering a cease and desist by a major corporation seems like a good marketing strategy, as I keep hearing about this Docusign alternative from earned media over their behaviour.
