WindowMaker and XFCE on X11 both support mouse based copy/paste. The wine/systray issue would be present on Sway and most other tiling wayland composers. Also the requirement to have a daemon to handle wallpaper is present on all Wayland composers too (I used wpaperd last time I tried Wayland). Very few of his issues have anything to do with Hyprland. They're almost all problems directly with Wayland composers ... all of them.
