I'm confused. How can it be that Apple supposedly infringes _none_ of Samsung's patents?
- taligent 14y agoPatent exhaustion. Qualcomm had a license to Samsung patents which is the component supplier that Apple was using.
- josephlord 14y agoI'm not sure if that was decided. The jury decided the patents were exhausted because Apple's suppliers had already been licensed. (Qualcomm I think). It is the general case that you can't demand two licenses for the same patent in the same product. If the 3G chip has a license then so does the phone it is built into.
