- Gibbon1 1y agoI remember someone who was locked up by both the Shah and the Ayatollahs. He said being in prison under the Shah was mind numbingly boring. While being locked up by the Ayatollahs was utterly terrifying 24/7. At the end of the Iran Iraq war the Ayatollahs murdered most of their political prisoners.
