Turning off all of the solar at the same time must've been an act of desperation.
- nbf_1995 1y agoThe solar wasn't turned off intentionally. The solar turned off automatically due to the over-voltage on the grid.
- toomuchtodo 1y agoThere is something called "high voltage ride through," where solar inverters that support it will dynamically adjust to above nominal voltage. If support and coordination are lacking, failure mode is rapid shutdown vs remaining connected. https://www.iso-ne.com/static-assets/documents/committees/comm_wkgrps/prtcpnts_comm/pac/mtrls/2014/jul112014/inverter_manufacturers_perspective.pdf https://www.iso-ne.com/static-assets/documents/committees/co... https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1364032122000533 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S13640...
