Nobody can "fix the entire OEM landscape". Mozilla could have nudged it in the right direction. They didn't try. Not even a step forwards. The entire value proposition from non-technical standpoint was "we're not Google". Others are trying with much less leverage or resources and actually progressing. Firefox OS was born, lived and died without making a dent.
