  At the prices the blog post is estimating, PV + antipodal grid is cheaper than nuclear. Or at least, could be. No reference to how long the cable would last (only the ship), which is kinda important.

    Realistically, most cables last until some ship's anchor destroys them and they aren't economic to repair.
