Export your contacts to rfc6350, use a mac to export your photos to a zip, put it all in git with the remote on a VPS and bail out.
None of the other stuff is worth worrying about.
- cromka 1y agoMy gym app on my Apple Watch, the AirTag on my cat and my dog, the NotePlan app on my mac/iPhone... I am personally migrating away from relying on iCloud and successfully so, but once you buy into an ecosystem, you end up entangled on so many levels that it's nearly impossible to move away with serious friction and habit-altering compromises. It becomes a serious cognitive load.
- unixhero 1y agoFitness is easily solved elsewhere Notes apps are really also a solved problem But I can't say there are as good alternatives to Airtag
- cromka 1y agoNot a „Notes” app. The NotePlan app. It’s fairly specific and not easily replaced with alternatives. I tried. The gym app I use also is pretty specific and having all my history data there, tracking current weight/reps for all the many exercises that it would be nearly impossible to migrate to another solution.
