- jqpabc123 1y agoAt this point, we really just don't know what "consciousness" is. For all we know, it could be a quantum mechanical property of the universe. Does anyone have proof that it is not? The brain may have evolved a means to tap into this quantum realm --- similar to the way migratory birds have evolved the ability to see the earth's magnetic field and use it for navigation. The one thing I am certain of --- there is no real logical reason to believe an electronic device can do the same.
- airesearcher 1y agoThat is similar to the point that the paper makes - however it proves it rigorously with formal logic.
- _wire_ 1y agoRhetoric masqueraded as science. Exhausting.
- airesearcher 1y agoWhy don't you read the formal paper and then decide... instead of rhetoric masquerading as commentary....? (however you will need to understand mathematical logic and formal logic)
- airesearcher 1y agoHere's the formal paper... but first read the simple summary linked above... https://www.novaspivack.com/science/on-the-formal-necessity-of-trans-computational-processing-for-sentience https://www.novaspivack.com/science/on-the-formal-necessity-...
