We can generate noise. Garbage data. Huge amounts of it. The asymmetry of this tactic is massively in our favor.

- komali2 1y agoNeal Stephenson seems prophetic in this sense. In "Fall," someone does exactly that - leverage what nowadays we'd call LLMs but micro ones deployable as a massive botnet, that take a given topic and vomit out unfilterable torrents of garbage about it. In the novel the POC for it is to divide the world into those that believe a small town in Utah was nuked, and those that don't. The deployment completely destroys the internet as well as a large swath of American sovereignty in its own borders, as a portion of the population becomes AI-addled ungovernable jihadists that spend half their time drooling over AI generated images and the other half crucifying heretics.

- AtlasBarfed 1y agoSo essentially we spam the internet from the partial unusability it currently is, to a total unusability? It still doesn't solve the problem of their dedicated drones/sensors/cameras, unless you get dozens of robots trained to look, walk, talk like you. And as someone else said, banks are controlled, crypto is pretty shady.
