I was impatient waiting for supplies and did a practice swatch with some cheap cotton string and take-out chopsticks (round, pointed, but not as sharp as knitting needles). That was more difficult than the real deal.
There were mistakes making the actual project, occasional extra loops that I eliminated by knitting or pearling two at once in the next row (wherever I thought it was a good spot). And I think I did a row K3, P2K2, K3 instead of K3, K2P2, K3. Some rows were off by one because of the occasional extra loop. (I should have been reading the previous row.)

It has already been repurposed as a blanket for my five year old's stuffed shark. (She now wants a glove because all I have to do is "make one for each side".)
