As someone that moved to the US somewhat recently.. the portion sizes here still blow my mind. My girlfriend orders chinese food and makes 3-4 meals out of it + food is viewed strongly as entertainment here + everything is very noticably sweeter or saltier than I'm used to. So many brands of plain bread taste like cake! I very much sympathize with americans that are pushed by their environment to be overweight
